Google Now Launcher expands its Compatibility

The best thing that Google brought on KitKat devices was the Google Now Launcher. But till now it's compatibility was restricted to Nexus or Google Play Edition devices. Other users had to sideload the app in order to get the Nexus 5 experience. But a recent update to the launhcer changed everything.

Although the update didn't find any big changes but one of the notable feature was its compatibility with non-Nexus and non-GPE devices. Android Central reported that they are seeing compatibility with HTC One (M8), One E8, One Mini 2 and LG G3 among others. And later an official statement from Google declared that Google Now Launcher is now compatible with all devices running Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) and higher.

With Google Now Launcher anyone phone can get a whole lot closer to the stock Android that is shipping with the Nexus 5. Now that its added to be available to devices running Android 4.1 or higher it will be easier to get updates rather that downloading and installing the apk file manually. Also it will definitely be updated to reflect Google's new Material Design so be ready for it and just say "OK Google" and start off your search.
