Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus Player and Android Lollipop unveiled

Finally after a lot of anticipation Google unveiled the new Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and a new device Nexus Player all running the latest version of Android which is Android 5.0 Lollipop. 

Android 5.0 Lollipop with the new Material Design is the biggest change in Android since the time it started. Lollipop is made for a world where moving throughout the day means interacting with a bunch of different screens—from phones and tablets to TVs. With more devices connecting together, your expectation is that things just work. With Lollipop, it’s easier than ever to pick up where you left off, so the songs, photos, apps, and even recent searches from one of your Android devices can be immediately enjoyed across all the other ones.  

Nexus 6 is the company's new flagship made by Motorola sporting a 5,96" display with a camera capable of shooting 4K videos at the rate of 30fps. This new phone has a contoured aluminum frame.The large screen is complemented by dual front-facing stereo speakers that deliver high-fidelity sound, making it as great for movies and gaming as it is for doing work. It also comes with a Turbo Charger, so you can get up to six hours of use with only 15 minutes of charge. 

Next up is the new Nexus 9, a 8.9" tablet which is suiting everybody's need for a professional as well as entertainment purpose. As rumored it is made by an all new manufacturer HTC returning to the market of tablets once again. A keyboard folio that magnetically attaches to the Nexus 9, folds into two different angles and rests securely on your lap like a laptop. 

And finally there is Nexus Player. The first device running Android TV. It's also a first-of-its-kind Android gaming device. With Nexus Player you can play Android games on your HDTV with a gamepad, then keep playing on your phone while you're on the road. Nexus Player is Google Cast Ready so you can cast your favorite entertainment from almost any Chromebook or Android or iOS phone or tablet to your TV.

Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact: Probably the best Tablet now Launched

Sony added another member to its tablet category with the new Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact. It is the lightest and thinnest waterproof tablet on the market. At just 270g and 6.4mm thick, the Tablet Compact might well be the lightest and thinnest tablet full stop, but Sony has added "waterproof" in there just in case.  

Taking its cues from the Xperia Z3 smartphone that leads Sony's IFA offering this year, its guts are equally impressive. A 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor powers the full HD display, with the tablet's 4,500mAh battery said to be good for a solid 13 hours of video playback. On the back is an 8-megapixel camera, which has a forward-facing 2-megapixel counterpart, and a tonne of fun photography features that are built in across the range. 

Also, like the other smartphones in the Z3 category, Z3 Tablet Compact will also be joining the PS Vita in being able to stream and play PlayStation 4 games away from the console. You can even buy a custom mount for your DualShock 4 controller so that you don't have to find a safe resting spot for the slate. 

The Sony Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact has an annoyingly long-winded name, but a decent slug of technology inside its skinny frame. If the price is right, this slim slate could be one of the best tablet offerings on the market. The Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact will launch globally in autumn 2014, in both LTE and Wi-Fi versions, although pricing details are not available yet.

Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet Launched in India

The Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet is an immaculate specimen of engineering that’s rare out of Apple’s camp. Other tablets for sure are sufficiently designed but when you pick this up, the lightness, the thinness of the tablet makes you wonder if Sony forgot to add internal components. Sony has always produced a very sophisticated hardware and that can be expected from their latest tablet from Xperia Z2 too. After a gap of a few months since the display of this tablet at Mobile World Congress 2014 it’s finally launched in India and is available on Infibeam at a price of Rs. 49, 900 almost the price of Sony Xperia Z2 smartphone.

At just about 439gm and 6.4mm thick the Z2 tablet is light and durable and with IPS5/8 rating means you don’t have to worry about water or dust, although this is same for every Sony Z series device. And with Android KitKat on-board you expect this thing to fly.

Control Tablet with a Remote like a TV

On the tablet’s left side is a lovely chrome power button, which is a signature of Sony’s mobile products. Below that is a rather forgettable volume rocker—and that’s about it as far as physical buttons go. There’s a headphone jack on the tablet’s bottom left side, and the microUSB and microSD slots sit on the tablet’s head, both of which are covered by flaps. On the back there’s an 8-megapixel camera, and a Sony connection on the bottom for accessories if you’re into that kind of thing. Additionally there’s an IR blaster up top for controlling your TV, which is actually pretty handy on such a wide canvas.

The TRILUMINOS display make sure that the user get the best possible and sharpest image. Sony equipped the device with S-Force Front Surround, which is basically a fancy way of saying the Z2 Tablet now has front-facing speakers.

If you have used a Sony device you know it comes loaded with a bunch of pre-loaded apps which however become a bit overbearing. You’ll have apps such as McAfee Security, Pixlr Express, OfficeSuite, File Commander, Sketch, Socialife. Unless you’re very committed to using Sony apps (WALKMAN, Xperia Lounge, Video Unlimited, etc.), you’ll be stuck with plenty of apps just filling up your device.

Overall Sony Xperia Z2 is “the most powerful Android Tablet in the market”. Now it is launched it will give a tough competition to Apple’s iPad which is at almost the same price but Apple’s synthesis of hardware/software is too strong. But in case of Android no one is better than this.
