Adidas Fit Smart Unveiled

Wearable tech is the hottest topic of this year. LG and Samsung launching smartwatches, Motorola to launch soon, after tablets Smartwatches are the next “big thing”. Android Wear launched to give all the wearables a defined platform and also rumours about Apple’s iWatch to be launched soon.

Adidas today unveiled its next addition to fitness wear category, Adidas FitSmart. Company release MiCoach Smart Run last year. It can be connected to the existing MiCoach account and can be used to track and plan the activities thereafter.

Revealed in San Francisco, during the Wearable Technologies Conference 2014, this wristband is capable of measuring your burned calories, heart rate, distance covered, pace and more fitness stats. It's going to be available in black and white, featuring a strap made of soft-touch silicone (similar to Nike's FuelBand SE) and a small strip of LEDs which can change color depending on the intensity of a workout.

New MiCoatch Interface
Adidas’s latest, the Fit smart will go on sale in August this year. Its major drawback is that it doesn’t have GPS and even then is priced at $199/£179/€199. Its biggest competition Nike FuelBand SE is about $100 cheaper so the question is do you want to shell out this amount or go for an alternative.
