Driving with Navdy is a lot like using Google Glass. Similar to a heads-up display, the device projects a transparent display on your windshield to show maps, notifications and music apps. The display is designed so the content is focused out six feet in front of you so drivers can easily view the display.
When it is linked to the car’s on-board computer, it can also project speed, RPM, fuel economy stats, tire-pressure warning or battery-voltage warning, among others. Users can customize the display to show something specific, such as a large RPM dial in the center.

At launch, it will be compatible with Google Maps, music apps and communication apps like messaging, phone and social media apps. While you won't be able to browse Facebook while you drive, Navdy will be able to orate text messages and notifications from social media apps, if those notifications are enabled.
The company launched a 30-day pre-order campaign on Tuesday, where early adopters can purchase the product at $299. The retail price of Navdy is $499. They’re also implementing a referral program that if you refer someone to Navdy, you can get $30 in credit.
