Asus launches Chromebox in India

Asus on Wednesday launched its Chromebox in India. All three versions of the box will be available and are priced from `21,000 going up to `58,000 for the top-end model.
Chromebox is a compact home or office computer running Chrome OS. On the hardware front ASUS has gone with Intel’s Haswell processors on all three variants, starting from the Celeron 2955U SKU for the base model right up to the Core i7-4600U for the top model. Of the three SKUs the base model does not support 4K but the other two do. All three models come with Google's suite of apps and services, and will receive constant automatic updates.
Mr. Levis Su – Managing Director, ASUS (India) & Regional Director – South Asia & Middle East, ASUS and Mr. Vinay Shetty – Country Head – Component Business, ASUS (India) pose with the ASUS Chromebox during the launch event
Buyers get 100GB of Google Drive space for two years, and can sync their files, browser sessions and passwords across ChromeOS and the Chrome browser on Android, Windows, iOS and OS X.
On the connectivity front, the Asus Chromebox is endowed with 802.11 Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Gigabit Ethernet, HDMI, DisplayPort, and four USB 3.0 ports. That’s a healthy selection of ports, and there’s a card reader too.
Asus offers optional wired or wireless keyboard and mouse packages. The Core i7 model is suitable for businesses. The optional accessories kit for meetings includes an HD webcam, remote control and microphone/speaker unit.
