Just
after the launch of Xiaomi in India, there is a buzz that the flagship killer
device OnePlus One may officially arrive in India. After the launch, this phone
has created quite a buzz in the tech community because of its high-end
specifications and a low a price. Though India was not on the initial launch
list but the sources say that with the increasing attention in the Indian
market they are not going to miss the opportunity.
...
The
OnePlus One runs on CyanogenMod 11S based on Android KitKat 4.4. It’s powered by
a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 2.5GHz quad-core chipset and has an Adreno 330 GPU.
It has 3GB RAM and is available in 16GB and 64GB variants. It has a 13MP camera
with Sony Exmor IMX 214 sensors and a 5MP selfie camera. It even captures 4K
video and also slow motion at 720p resolution at 120 fps. It sports a 5.5-inch
Full HD display and has Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
With
all these specs one would think it to be at a price level of HTC One M8 or Sony
Xperia Z2. It’s even cheaper than Moto X. The 16GB variant costs $299(`17,900)
and 64GB costs $349(`20,900). Well it’s definitely going to kill all the
smartphone below 20K.
“Over the past months, we’ve seen tremendous interest from India, despite not having launched there. We have many customers in India purchasing to the US, and then asking a friend to bring it over or trans-shipping it. Some have even purchased the device from scalpers. Looking at our traffic, India ranks number 8, outweighing many of our launch countries.”
Well
it seems like Indian market is going to be flooded with the best smartphones in
the mid segment giving a hard time to the customers to decide. But they will be
having a lot of choices. There is Xiaomi, Moto, Asus, Jolla, and the list
continues.
