It’s
an exciting way to shop without leaving Twitter. Their tagline says, “Add it
now. Buy it later. Shop from within Twitter”. The process is quite simple.
Users have to connect their Amazon accounts with their Twitter account. Once it’s
done then while browsing just reply to tweet containing a link to Amazon
product with #AmazonCart and that product will be waiting for you in your cart
the next time you visit Amazon. This was already available to the users in US and
UK from May where it was named #AmazonBasket.
Amazon
started its Indian website last June and now it has a registered base of about
35 Million users and growing. "The global leader is expected to vie for
the top slot in India as well, which has triggered an increased urgency and
competitiveness within the sector. As a result, there has been a significant
increase in the investments that are being injected as well as the speed of
consolidation," a report by consulting firm Technopak states. Their
biggest competitor is the Indian e-commerce giant Flipkart which made the
competition even more tough by acquiring Myntra in an estimated ₹2000
crore deal making it the biggest consolidation in e-commerce in India.
